On Wednesday, 17th May, 2016 – The Royal Embassy of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in Accra donated 50 tons (2,500 cartons) of date fruits to the Government of Ghana at a ceremony held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration in Accra.
Presenting the dates on behalf of His Royal Highness Sheikh Salman Bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud, King of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, H.E. Hesham Meshal Sowilem Al Sowilem, Saudi Ambassador to Ghana, and Leader of the delegation, said the donation was in conformity with the values of the Kingdom and its active role in humanitarian services”.He reiterated the Saudi Government’s commitment to making Ghana-Saudi Arabia relations stronger.
Receiving the fruits on behalf of Government of Ghana, Mr. Maxwell Awiaga, Director of the Middle-East Bureau of the Ministry, used the occasion to express gratitude to the Government of Saudi Arabia for its immeasurable contributions towards the development of Ghana. He then thanked the Custodian of the two Holy Mosques through the Saudi Ambassador for “his efforts in getting the consignment to Accra”.
