PRESIDENT AKUFO-ADDO COMMISSIONS NINE ENVOYS.

The President of the Republic of Ghana, H.E. Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo on Monday, 24th June, 2024 commissioned nine (9) envoys to serve as Ambassadors and High Commissioners to represent Ghana in various countries.

 

The envoys are Major-General Rtd. Nicholas Peter Andoh, Ambassador of the Republic of Ghana to the Republic of Türkiye, Vice Admiral Seth Amoama, High Commissioner of the Republic of Ghana to the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Mrs. Francisca Ashietey-Odunton, High Commissioner of the Republic of Ghana to the Republic of South Africa, Mr. Henry Tachie-Menson, Ambassador of the Republic of Ghana to the Kingdom of Belgium and Mrs. Charity Gbedawo, Ambassador of the Republic of Ghana to the Kingdom of Morocco. The rest are Ms. Abigail Naa Adzoko Kwashi, Ambassador of the Republic of Ghana to the Kingdom of Norway, Dr. Robert Afriyie, Ambassador of the Republic of Ghana to the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, Mr. Ernest Yaw Amporful, High Commissioner of the Republic of Ghana to the Republic of Rwanda and Mr. Nana Bediatuo Asante, Ambassador-at-Large.

 

President Akufo-Addo charged the newly commissioned Envoys to work closely with their host countries to strengthen relations between Ghana and their host countries. He encouraged them to promote Ghana’s image and work to attract investments into the country, while engaging the global community in the fight against violent extremism, armed conflicts, terrorism and climate change.

 

Ambassador Henry Tachie-Menson, who spoke on behalf of the newly commissioned envoys, assured the President that they would work to uphold Ghana’s interest and strengthen the country’s image on the international front while developing enduring relationships and strengthening bonds of friendship with their host countries and multilateral institutions to address common challenges that affect humanity.

 

Present at the ceremony were the Chief of Staff, Hon. Akosua Frema Osei-Opare, the Minister for Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration, Hon. Shirley Ayorkor Botchwey, the Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration, Hon. Mavis Nkansah-Boadu and the Chief Director of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration, Amb.Ramses Joseph Cleland. Also present were officials from the Head of Civil Service, officers of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration, the clergy as well as families and friends of the newly commissioned envoys.
