The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration has donated educational materials to some schools in Accra to complement Government\u2019s efforts to improve the quality of education in the country.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
The donation which took place on Friday, July 13, 2018, was part of the \u201cBack to School Campaign\u201d which was launched by the Ministry earlier this year under the theme \u201cForeign Policy mirrors Domestic Diplomacy\u201d.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
The Deputy Minister for Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration Hon. Charles Owiredu and a delegation from the Ministry donated educational materials which included textbooks, dictionaries, stationery and footballs to the Abeka Motorway Cluster of Schools at\u00a0 Abeka and the St. Justin Anglican Primary and Junior High School at Ablekuman.<\/p>\n

Hon. Owiredu told the head teachers, teachers and pupils of both schools that the Ministry was responsible for implementing Ghana\u2019s Foreign policy, however, it was also committed to implementing\u00a0 its social responsibility, which was to assist under-privileged schools and pupils to excel in their academics.<\/p>\n

He said the President of the Republic, His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and the Minister for Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration, Hon. Shirley Ayorkor Botchwey were in full support of the \u201cBack to School Campaign\u201d.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
He stated that the educational materials and footballs were to help them study and achieve success both in academics and sports. He advised the pupils to take their studies seriously and be determined, disciplined and law abiding in order to achieve success in their academics so as to become good educated future leaders of the country. He also encouraged them to take good care of the items which were donated.<\/p>\n

The head teachers, teachers and pupils of both schools expressed their appreciation to the Hon. Deputy Minister and his delegation for the donation and promised to put the items to good use.<\/p>\n
