The President of the Republic, His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo received Letters of Credence of four new envoys accredited to Ghana on Wednesday, 23rd<\/sup> January 2019 at the Jubilee House in Accra. The envoys were;<\/p>\n

His Excellency Mr. Emad Magdy Hanna Kamel \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0– Arab Republic of Egypt<\/p>\n

Her Excellency Mrs. Stephanie Sanders Sullivan \u00a0– United Sates of America<\/p>\n

Her Excellency Mrs. \u00d6zlem G\u00fcls\u00fcn Erg\u00fcn Ulueren \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0–\u00a0 Republic of\u00a0 Turkey<\/p>\n

His Excellency Mr. Pham Anh Tuan\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0–\u00a0 Socialist Republic of Vietnam<\/p>\n

In his welcome remarks, President Akufo-Addo congratulated the new envoys on their appointment and assured them of Ghana\u2019s continued support to further strengthen bilateral relations with their respective countries. He stated that Ghana was ready to engage in various cooperation that would be mutually beneficial to both parties. He assured the envoys of the support of the country in the discharge of their duties and also wished them a successful tour of duty.<\/p>\n

Arab Republic of Egypt<\/strong><\/p>\n

His Excellency Mr. Emad Magdy Hanna Kamel said he was honoured to be in Ghana and commended President Akufo-Addo for the \u201cGhana Beyond Aid\u201d agenda. He indicated that the agenda was worth emulating by the African Continent and expressed interest for an \u201cAfrica Beyond Aid\u201d agenda.<\/p>\n

Ambassador Kamel praised Ghana for her hospitality and the progress made in the agriculture sector. He registered of his commitment to work towards increasing cooperation in the areas of trade, investment, and infrastructure.<\/p>\n

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo recalled that the relations between Ghana and Egypt which dates back to Ghana\u2019s pre-independence era had been strengthened over the years. He reiterated Ghana\u2019s commitment to the African Continental Free Trade Area, adding that it was key for the future prosperity of Africa.<\/p>\n

United Sates of America<\/strong><\/p>\n

Her Excellency\u00a0Mrs. Stephanie Sanders Sullivan, commended Ghana for progress made so far in the advancement of democracy and development. She also recalled the strengthened bilateral relations with Ghana through initiatives in the areas of law enforcement, peace and security, democracy and human rights.<\/p>\n

Ambassador Sullivan lauded Ghana for her role in the promotion of peace in the world.\u00a0She informed that her country will introduce new programmes for cooperation with Ghana. The Ambassador further assured President Akufo-Addo of her commitment towards the advancement of relations between Ghana and the United States of America, in the areas of trade, investment and energy, local governance, and a free media.<\/p>\n

President Akufo-Addo\u00a0intimated that relations between the two countries had become stronger and both countries have cooperated\u00a0in areas of the economy, trade, defence and security as well as foreign policy.\u00a0 He emphasized that Ghana is determined to attain a prosperous society as well as the \u201cGhana Beyond Aid\u201d agenda which is a determination to accelerate the development of the country. He called for further economic cooperation between the two countries.<\/p>\n

Republic of Turkey <\/strong><\/p>\n

Her Excellency Mrs. \u00d6zlem G\u00fcls\u00fcn Erg\u00fcn Ulueren, noted with pleasure the strong relations between Turkey and Ghana. She recalled the success story of the relations and stated that Turkey has provided 250 scholarships to Ghanaian students within the last four years.<\/p>\n

Ambassador Ulueren reiterated her government\u2019s commitment to strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries particularly in tourism, human resource and investment.<\/p>\n

President Akufo-Addo congratulated the Ambassador and indicated that relations between Ghana and Turkey was strong and was therefore looking forward to more cooperation with Turkey towards strengthening Ghana’s economy.\u00a0He expressed hope that both countries would work to\u00a0take relations to a higher level for their mutual benefit.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Socialist \u00a0Republic of Vietnam<\/strong><\/p>\n

His Excellency Mr. Pham Anh Tuan, acknowledged the relations between his country and Ghana adding that Vietnam was ready to cooperate with Ghana on various areas of development.<\/p>\n

Ambassador Tuan stated that his country was impressed with Ghana’s development and therefore expressed the desire to increase cooperation with Ghana in the areas of trade, investment, education and agriculture. He assured that he will work to enhance the friendship between the two countries.<\/p>\n

President Akufo-Addo commended Vietnam for its economic transformation. He added that Ghana was inspired by their success story and called for both countries to work together to further enhance their bilateral relations by opening an Embassy in each other’s country.<\/p>\n
