{"id":3537,"date":"2019-02-05T09:21:39","date_gmt":"2019-02-05T09:21:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/mfa.gov.gh\/?p=3537"},"modified":"2019-02-05T09:36:18","modified_gmt":"2019-02-05T09:36:18","slug":"president-akufo-addo-commissions-two-new-envoys","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mfa.gov.gh\/index.php\/president-akufo-addo-commissions-two-new-envoys\/","title":{"rendered":"PRESIDENT AKUFO-ADDO COMMISSIONS TWO NEW ENVOYS"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The President of the Republic His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo commissioned two new Ambassadors to the Kingdom of Belgium and the Kingdom of Norway on Friday, 1<sup>st<\/sup> February 2019.<\/p>\n<p>The envoys are Ambassador-Designate to the Kingdom of Belgium and Ghana\u2019s Permanent Representative to the European Union, Mrs. Harriet Sena Siaw-Boateng and Ambassador-Designate to the Kingdom of Norway, Mrs. Jennifer Lartey.<\/p>\n<p>President Akufo-Addo led the new envoys to take the Oath of Allegiance, Official Oath and Oath of Secrecy.<\/p>\n<p>In his address, President Akufo-Addo congratulated the newly appointed envoys and added that they were carefully selected and were fit to represent Ghana in the aforementioned jurisdictions. He acknowledged the two as experienced officers whom he had the opportunity to work with.<\/p>\n<p>The President reminded the envoys of their three fold role, which included diplomatic, ceremonial and administrative. He further admonished them to safeguard, project and promote the image and interest of Ghana in their respective host countries.<\/p>\n<p>The Ambassador-designate to Belgium and Ghana\u2019s Permanent Representative to The European Union, Mrs. Harriet Sena Siaw-Boateng \u00a0\u00a0on behalf of her colleague and herself expressed gratitude to the President for the honour bestowed on them to represent the country.<\/p>\n<p>H.E.\u00a0 Mrs. Sena Siaw-Boateng stated that \u201ctodays diplomatic environment presents us all with challenges but also offers immerse economic opportunities for countries such as ours.
