{"id":5326,"date":"2025-03-11T13:10:48","date_gmt":"2025-03-11T13:10:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/mfa.gov.gh\/?p=5326"},"modified":"2025-03-11T13:10:48","modified_gmt":"2025-03-11T13:10:48","slug":"ghana-and-japan-exchange-notes-on-the-project-for-the-stabilization-of-power-in-tamale","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mfa.gov.gh\/index.php\/ghana-and-japan-exchange-notes-on-the-project-for-the-stabilization-of-power-in-tamale\/","title":{"rendered":"GHANA AND JAPAN EXCHANGE NOTES ON THE PROJECT FOR THE STABILIZATION OF POWER IN TAMALE"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Ghana and Japan are embarking on a project that will serve to stabilize power supply in the Eastern Corridor of Ghana, i.e. Tamale, Yendi, and several other cities and towns in that environ, a need which the Government of Japan is assisting \u00a0Ghana to meet. On the basis of the foregoing, a signing ceremony took place between the Minister for Foreign Affairs, Hon. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa and H.E. Hiroshi Yoshimoto, the Japanese Ambassador to Ghana, \u00a0on Monday 10<sup>th<\/sup> March, 2025 at the Ministry.<\/p>\n<p>During the ceremony, Honourable Ablakwa expressed gratitude to the Japanese Government on behalf of the H. E. John Dramani Mahama and people of Ghana. He described the warm relations that exist between Ghana and Japan, detailing aid and other developmental assistance offered by Japan to Ghana. He paid tribute to Hideyo Noguchi, who died researching yellow fever in Ghana, stating that he \u201cpaid the ultimate price\u201d out of love for the country.<\/p>\n<p>The Minister indicated that the power infrastructure in the Eastern Corridor of the country was fragile, making it difficult for the Northen Electricity Company to supply power to the people. He acknowledged that the project would help improve the energy situation in the Eastern Corridor.<\/p>\n<p>H.E.
