In commemoration of the 80th Anniversary of the United Nations, eight (8) trees were planted at eight (8) strategic locations to symbolize the longstanding partnership between the organization and Ghana in advancing sustainable development.<\/p>\n
The trees planted represented the following thematic areas:<\/p>\n
i. Ministry of Foreign Affairs – strong partnership and enhanced multilateralism;<\/p>\n
ii. Ministry of The Interior – joint efforts in human rights, public safety and civil<\/p>\n
protection;<\/p>\n
iii. Ministry of Defence – Ghana\u2019s leadership in security sector reform and<\/p>\n
peacekeeping;<\/p>\n
iv. National Peace Council – peacebuilding and conflict prevention;<\/p>\n
v. GIMPA – collaboration in education, research and innovation;<\/p>\n
vi. Parliament House – reaffirming democratic governance and rule of law;<\/p>\n
vii. National Development<\/p>\n
Planning Commission – leadership in shaping Ghana\u2019s development vision;<\/p>\n
viii. Ghana Journalist Association – promoting media freedom, public engagement and<\/p>\n
accountability.<\/p>\n
The Acting Chief Director of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Her Excellency Khadija Iddrisu and the Security Advisor and Representative of the United Nations in Ghana, Ms. Lihong Shen planted the tree at the Ministry.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
