The Fourth Session of the Ghana\u2013Colombia Political Consultations was held on Tuesday, 17th March, 2026 at the San Carlos Palace, headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Colombia in Bogot\u00e1. Honourable James Gyakye Quayson (MP), Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs, led Ghana’s delegation. The session was co-chaired by Amb. Juana Esperanza Castro Santamar\u00eda, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Colombia.<\/p>\n
The consultations provided a high-level platform for both countries to engage on a wide range of issues of mutual interest, including trade and investment, maritime connectivity, agriculture and agribusiness, education, culture and the arts, sports, technical cooperation, historical reparations, and multilateral affairs, among others. Both sides reaffirmed their longstanding diplomatic relations established on 23rd June, 1988 and expressed a shared commitment to advance practical and mutually beneficial cooperation.<\/p>\n
Discussions highlighted the strong foundation of Ghana\u2013Colombia relations and underscored the mutual desire to deepen collaboration across key sectors. The two sides committed to the establishment of Joint Technical meetings and Working Groups to facilitate the process of implementation of agreed objectives in the identified key sectors. Both delegations expressed satisfaction with the constructive and productive outcome of the consultations and agreed to sustain regular engagements to monitor and advance the implementation of agreed initiatives.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
