In accordance with established diplomatic protocol, the President of the Republic of Ghana, His Excellency John Dramani Mahama received the Letters of Credence of the following Envoys accredited to Ghana on Monday, 30th March, 2026:<\/p>\n
i. Her Excellency Diarra Dime-Labille, Ambassador of France<\/p>\n
ii. His Excellency Rui Orlando Xavier, Ambassador of Angola<\/p>\n
iii. Her Excellency Ndiyakupi Ngituwamata, High Commissioner of Namibia<\/p>\n
iv. Her Excellency Jacquiline Natepi Ben Lochalamoi, Ambassador of South Sudan<\/p>\n
v. His Excellency Cong Song, Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China<\/p>\n
Receiving the Letters of Credence from the Ambassador of France, His Excellency the President recalled the good relations between the two countries and highlighted Ghana\u2019s commitment in strengthening maritime and regional security to address the challenging security situation in the region. The Ambassador expressed the readiness of France to collaborate with Ghana in areas of mutual interest to deepen cooperation in political, economic and development matters.<\/p>\n
During his interaction with the Ambassador of Angola, the His Excellency the President reaffirmed the strong historical and diplomatic ties between Ghana and Angola, emphasising the importance of African solidarity, unity and cooperation. He commended his Angolan counterpart, His Excellency Jo\u00e3o Louren\u00e7o for the leadership role he played during his tenure as the Chairperson of the African Union and expressed appreciation for Angola\u2019s support on international issues, including the recognition of the transatlantic slave trade as a grave crime against humanity. On his part, the Ambassador assured of his commitment to further strengthen the bonds of cooperation between the two countries.<\/p>\n
His Excellency the President welcomed the High Commissioner of Namibia, recalled the existing bilateral relations between Ghana and Namibia and recounted the role played by Ghana in African liberation movements. The need to leverage the framework of the African Continental Free Trade Area to deepen economic cooperation was emphasized. The Ambassador indicated Namibia\u2019s interest in deepening cooperation in agriculture and education.<\/p>\n
Discussions with the Ambassador of South Sudan centered on the cooperation for the promotion of peace and development, cultural and academic exchanges, regional cooperation, among others. The Ambassador on her part expressed gratitude for Ghana\u2019s consistent support, commitment to unity and peace and highlighted opportunities for collaboration in development and resource management.<\/p>\n
The President in receiving the Letters of Credence of the Ambassador of Ghana highlighted the strategic partnership between the two countries. He acknowledged the support of China for Ghana\u2019s development through infrastructure projects, investment initiatives, debt restructuring,<\/p>\n
