It featured the centenarian, Ambassador Richard Maximillian Akwei, one of Ghana\u2019s ten pioneering Foreign Service Officers who charted new pathways for the nation\u2019s diplomacy at a time when its voice was just emerging on the world stage.<\/p>\n<p>The objective of the Ambassadors\u2019 Chat Series is to provide an informal yet a significant platform for Officers of the Ministry to interact with experienced retired Ambassadors in conversations to enhance professional development through the sharing of practical diplomatic experiences.<br \/>\nDuring the chat with Ambassador Richard Maximillian Akwei, he reflected on positions taken by Ghana in its international relations since independence, including the role played in the liberation movement of the African continent, establishment of the erstwhile Organisation of African Unity (now African Union), Non-Aligned Movement (NAM), among others.<\/p>\n<p>He stated that it was inspiring working closely with the first President of the Republic of Ghana, Dr. Kwame Nkrumah. In addition to sharing the experience gained during his active working years, he also reflected on the current happenings in the world, their impact on countries and expectations of international organisations.<br \/>\nAmbassador Akwei lauded the Minister for Foreign Affairs, Honourable Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa and the Management of the Ministry for the initiative.<br \/>\nHe further applauded the Minister for his exemplary leadership and relentless efforts in advancing Ghana&#8217;s Foreign Policy.The maiden edition of the Chat Series was engaging and insightful.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Ministry of Foreign Affairs held its maiden Ambassadors\u2019 Chat Series on 28th April, 2026.
