{"id":6707,"date":"2026-07-01T09:48:01","date_gmt":"2026-07-01T09:48:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/mfa.gov.gh\/?p=6707"},"modified":"2026-07-01T09:48:01","modified_gmt":"2026-07-01T09:48:01","slug":"exchange-of-notes-on-japanese-grant-assistance-for-the-project-for-human-resource-development-scholarship-jds","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mfa.gov.gh\/index.php\/exchange-of-notes-on-japanese-grant-assistance-for-the-project-for-human-resource-development-scholarship-jds\/","title":{"rendered":"Exchange of Notes on Japanese Grant Assistance for the Project for Human Resource Development Scholarship (JDS)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>On 30<sup>th<\/sup> June 2026, the Government of the Republic of Ghana and the Government of THE State of Japan signed an Exchange of Notes on Japanese Grant Assistance for the Project for Human Resource Development Scholarship (JDS), valued at <strong>three hundred and forty-one million Japanese Yen (JPY341 million)<\/strong>, equivalent to approximately <strong>US$2.11 million<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The Exchange of Notes was signed on behalf of the Government of the Republic of Ghana by <strong>H.E. Amb. Khadija Iddrisu, Chief Director of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs<\/strong>, and on behalf of the Government of the State of Japan by <strong>H.E. Yoshimoto Hiroshi, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to the Republic of Ghana<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The Grant Agreement is expected to support the implementation of the Human Resource Development Scholarship Programme from <strong>1<sup>st<\/sup> April 2027 to 31<sup>st<\/sup> December 2033<\/strong> and will be disbursed in five phases. The programme will provide opportunities for young Ghanaian public sector officials to pursue two-year Master&#8217;s degree programmes and three-year Ph.D. programmes at selected Japanese universities, including Kobe University, Ritsumeikan University, Nagasaki University, International Christian University, and the International University of Japan.<\/p>\n<p>The JDS Programme seeks to strengthen Ghana&#8217;s human resource capacity by equipping public officials with advanced knowledge, technical expertise, and leadership skills to contribute effectively to national development and public sector reform.
