The Minister for Foreign Affairs, Honourable Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa (MP), received the Open Letters of the Representative-Designate of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), Dr. Emmanuel Kalenzi, on Friday, 24th July 2026, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Accra.<\/p>\n
The Minister described UNIDO as one of Ghana\u2019s trusted and valued development partners, commending the Organization for its significant contributions to poverty alleviation, industrial development, job creation and the economic empowerment of communities. The Minister noted that Dr. Kalenzi assumes office at a time when the Government of Ghana is implementing key economic reforms under the Reset Agenda and expressed confidence that his expertise and experience would contribute meaningfully to advancing the country\u2019s industrialisation drive.<\/p>\n
He further conveyed Ghana\u2019s appreciation to UNIDO for its steadfast support and continued confidence in the country\u2019s vision for inclusive and sustainable economic transformation.<\/p>\n
In his remarks, Dr. Kalenzi reaffirmed UNIDO\u2019s commitment to deepening its collaboration with the Government of Ghana to promote inclusive and sustainable industrial development and gave his assurance that he would build on the achievements of his predecessor in strengthening cooperation in priority areas. Dr. Kalenzi also reiterated UNIDO\u2019s readiness to support the Government\u2019s 24-Hour Economy initiative as part of efforts to accelerate industrial growth and sustainable economic transformation.<\/p>\n
At the end, both sides reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening the partnership between Ghana and UNIDO and expressed confidence that enhanced collaboration would accelerate the Ghana\u2019s industrialisation agenda and advance its sustainable development aspirations.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
