The Minister for Foreign Affairs, Honourable Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa held a cordial meeting with his Cuban counterpart, Comrade Bruno Eduardo Rodr\u00edguez Parrilla, to discuss strengthening Ghana-Cuba relations and advancing cooperation in areas of mutual interest.<\/p>\n
The meeting with the distinguished Minister of Foreign Affairs of Cuba, Comrade Bruno Eduardo Rodr\u00edguez Parrilla was an excellent opportunity to renew the solidarity of Ghana for Cuba.<\/p>\n
Discussions focused on healthcare, scholarships and training, energy cooperation, agriculture and economic engagement, including opportunities for technical collaboration to address energy and infrastructure challenges.<\/p>\n
The two also reviewed their excellent bilateral relations including assessing their longstanding health cooperation which allows Cuban medical volunteers to work in Ghana and the training of Ghanaian medical doctors in Cuba.<\/p>\n
The Minister expressed Ghana\u2019s solidarity with the Government and people of Cuba in the face of the country\u2019s current challenges, commending the resilience of the Cuban people and reaffirming Ghana\u2019s longstanding friendship and support.<\/p>\n
The two sides also exchanged views on international developments, the importance of solidarity among developing countries, respect for sovereignty and international law, and the need for strengthened multilateral cooperation.<\/p>\n
As President Mahama reiterated during his UN address, Ghana calls for the unconditional lifting of sanctions against Cuba.<\/p>\n
Ghana looks forward to further deepening its longstanding partnership with Cuba through practical and mutually beneficial cooperation that delivers tangible outcomes for both peoples.<\/p>\n
The Government of Ghana is delighted to know that the relief items it donated to Cuba in November, 2025, in time of crisis arrived in great condition; made the necessary impact and was well appreciated by the Cuban people.<\/p>\n
