The Minister for Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration, Hon. Shirley Ayorkor Botchwey, on Friday, 1st June 2018, received Open Letters from the Ambassador – designate of the People’s Republic of China to Ghana, H.E. Shiting Wang. The Ambassador-designate was accompanied by Mr. Jiang Zhouteng, Counsellor, among other officials.
Hon. Ayorkor Botchwey warmly welcomed H.E. Wang and congratulated him on his appointment to the high office of an Ambassador and urged him to continue the good works of his predecessor in further strengthening the existing bonds of friendship between the two countries. She expressed appreciation for the valuable work done by the immediate past Chinese Ambassador to Ghana.
On his part, Ambassador Wang applauded Ghana as a long time friend of China and stated that the country was the second in Sub-Saharan Africa to have established diplomatic relations with China. He also commended the hard work done by his predecessor and indicated that he would be counting on the Ministry for the necessary support and cooperation in the execution of his mandate.
