A 13-member delegation from the Adjarra City in Benin paid a working visit to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration (MFA & RI), on Monday 22nd August, 2022.
The visit was to advance discussions on an initiative themed “Ghana-Adjarra Project”. The “Ghana-Adjarra Project” is aimed at strengthening the long-standing bonds of friendship and cooperation between Ghana and Benin in the political, economic, educational, cultural and tourism spheres, among others.
The Deputy Mayor of Adjarra City, Mr. Andre Assogba who led the delegation acknowledged the effort of the Ghanaian authorities that facilitated their visit to Ghana. He further expressed Benin’s readiness to invite investors from Ghana to explore business opportunities in Benin. He hoped that this project will continue to promote cooperation between Ghana and Benin in the afore-mentioned sectors, for the mutual benefit and interest of both countries.
The Coordinating Director, Political & Economic/MFA&RI, Amb. Hannah Nyarko, in her remarks noted the extraordinary partnership that existed between Ghana and Benin at the multilateral, bilateral and regional levels. She commended the Benin delegation for the efforts towards realizing the project and initiative and hoped that the Ghanaian Municipalities will welcome this project, which will strengthen the already existing fruitful relations between Ghana and Benin.
