During the State Visit of the President of the Republic of Ghana to the Republic of Singapore, the Ministers for Foreign Affairs for Ghana and Singapore, Honourable Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa (MP) and Dr. Vivian Balakrishnan held discussions on how the two countries could cooperate in key sectors to strengthen the relations between the two countries
After deliberations, the two Ministers agreed on the need to:
- Renew and conclude negotiations on the Bilateral Investment Treaty (BIT) between the two countries,
- revamp the Dry Dock and expand the Tema Port;
- construct a new jetty for oil ships;
- establish Testing Labs for certifying materials for constructing durable roads in Ghana with the support of the Land Transport Authority of Singapore;
- To establish a common payment platform between the central banks of Ghana and Singapore to boost trade and commerce between Africa and Asia.
