The Ambassador of China, His Excellency Tong Defa called on the Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs, Honourable James Gyakye Quayson (MP) on Tuesday, 4th November, 2025. The discussions between the Deputy Minister and the Ambassador centered on implementation of agreements for mutual benefit and strengthening of the partnership between the two countries at both bilateral and multilateral levels.
The Deputy Minister recalled the ties between the two countries and lauded the dividend it has yielded over the years in various areas including the building of infrastructure, energy, agriculture. He highlighted the vision of Government for economic transformation through initiatives such as the 24 Hour Economy, Feed Ghana Programme and continuous efforts to enhance the business environment to attract investment.
The Ambassador on his part assured of China’s continuous support to Ghana through its bilateral relations and acknowledged the cooperation between the two countries at the multilateral level.
