Following the signing of an agreement between the Governments of Ghana and China for a grant to facilitate the construction of a modern market at Aflao to boost trading activities, a stakeholder meeting was held on Wednesday, 5th November, 2025 to discuss some modalities in relation to the project.
The Minister for Foreign Affairs, Honourable Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa (MP) in his remarks highlighted Government’s commitment to the project and the expected economic impact on the country.
Present at the meeting were the Volta Regional Minister, Honourable James Gunu, the Acting Chief Director of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Her Excellency Khadija Iddrisu, Chiefs from the Aflao Traditional Area, the Ambassador and officials of the Embassy of China in Ghana.
The meeting concluded with a shared commitment among stakeholders to collaborate effectively for the timely completion of the project.
