The Minister for Foreign Affairs, Honourable Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa (MP) has embarked on an Official Visit to the State of Qatar at the invitation of the Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs, His Excellency Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim bin Jaber Al Thani.
The discussions between the Honourable Minister and his host centred on forging closer ties, increasing trade, strategic cooperation and collaboration in conflict mediation based on commitment to a multilateral rule-based order anchored on peace and stability.
To further strengthen the bilateral relations between Ghana and Qatar, discussions were also held on easing visa requirements to facilitate the movement of persons and goods, since the challenge of transportation has already been addressed in a major way by direct flights from Doha to Accra. In addition, Ghana and Qatar have agreed to conclude a labour mobility agreement to offer job opportunities for skilled young Ghanaians.
The visit reaffirmed the shared commitment of Ghana and Qatar to advancing mutually beneficial cooperation and fostering stronger ties between the two nations.
