The Minister for Foreign Affairs, Hon. Samuel Okudjeto Ablakwa, on an official visit to Russia, has called for an Africa-led plan, with support from Russia, to address terrorism and violent extremism in the Sahel Region.
He was speaking at a press briefing after holding bilateral discussions with his Russian counterpart, H.E Sergey Lavrov. Hon. Samuel Okudjeto Ablakwa expressed government’s appreciation for Russia’s cooperation and support towards Ghana’s fight against violent extremism in the Sahel Region. He however stressed the need to have an Africa-led plan with support from Russia to address terrorism and violent extremism in the Sahel Region
