The President of the Republic of Ghana, His Excellency John Dramani Mahama commissioned eleven (3) High Commissioners and Eight (8) Ambassadors-designate on Wednesday, 19th November 2025 to represent Ghana Abroad. In accordance with existing practice the Envoys took the Oaths of Allegiance, Office and Secrecy.
The commissioned Envoys are:
i. Mrs. Theresa Adjei-Mensah – Ambassador-designate to the Czech
Republic;
ii. Dr. Felix Kumah Godwin Anebo – Ambassador-designate to the Republic of
Senegal;
iii. Mrs. Mona Helen Kabuki Quartey – Ambassador-designate to the Italian
Republic;
iv. Mr. Kenneth Akibate – Ambassador-designate to Burkina Faso;
v. Mr. Paul Evans Aidoo – High Commissioner-designate to the
Republic of Kenya;
vi. Prof. Justice Solomon Korantwi Barimah – Ambassador-designate to the Arab
Republic of Egypt;
vii. Brig. Gen. Alhassan Abu (Rtd) – Ambassador-designate to the Republic of
Cote d’Ivoire;
viii. Amb. Doris Adzo Denyo Brese – High Commissioner-designate to the
Commonwealth of Australia;
ix. Ms. Elizabeth Nyantakyi – High Commissioner-designate to the
Republic of Zambia
x. Mr. Eddison Mensah Agbenyegah – Ambassador-designate to the Kingdom of
the Netherlands
xi. Mr. Edward Kwaku Cofie – Ambassador-designate to the People’s
Democratic Republic of Algeria
Addressing the commissioned Envoys, the President noted the shift in international relations induced by climate change, technological advancement, geopolitics, economics, among others. He then tasked them to use diplomacy as a strategic tool for national development, Ghana Missions abroad as hubs to promote trade, investment, technology transfer and tourism and said that their work would be guided and measured by the Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for Heads of Mission. He also stressed the importance of financial discipline and the need for integrity. He reminded them that the Reset Agenda is aimed at rebuilding confidence in governance, strengthen public institutions for the benefit of citizens. Present at the Ceremony were the Vice President Jane Naana Opoku Agyemang and other senior Government Officials.
On behalf of the Envoys, the Ambassador-designate to the Italian Republic expressed appreciation to the President for the confidence reposed in them assured of their readiness to diligently contribute their quota in building Ghana.
