DEAN OF THE DIPLOMATIC CORPS BIDS HIS EXCELLENCY THE PRESIDENT FAREWELL

The Ambassador of the Lebanese Republic and Dean of the Diplomatic Corps, His Excellency Maher Kheir called on the President of the Republic of Ghana, His Excellency John Dramani Mahama on Friday, 7th November, 2025 to bid him farewell upon the completion of his tour of duty in Ghana.

Ambassador Kheir expressed gratitude for the audience granted him by His Excellency the President. He lauded Ghana for its democratic credentials and long-standing record of peacekeeping, especially the country’s contribution to the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) since 1978. He also used the opportunity to apprise the President of activities he undertook during his tour to further enhance the cooperation between Ghana and Lebanon in education, culture, and trade.

His Excellency President Mahama congratulated Ambassador Kheir on the successful completion of his tour of duty and commended him for his leadership which has further strengthened the bonds of friendship and cooperation between the two countries which predates independence. Emphasising the importance of peace and security, His Excellency the President assured that Ghana would continue to contribute to UNIFIL.

Present at the meeting were the Minister for Foreign Affairs, Honourable Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa (MP), Presidential Advisor, Mrs. Joyce Bawah Mogtari and senior officials.
