The Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs, Honourable James Gyakye Quayson (MP) on Wednesday, 31st December, 2025 commissioned the Passport Application Centre in Goaso, Ahafo Region.
The Honourable Deputy Minister stated that the opening of the application centre would reduce travel burdens, costs, delays and curb the activities of middlemen. He also reiterated Government’s commitment to decentralise service delivery and urged staff to serve with professionalism and integrity. An applicant who applied for passport at the Goaso Application Centre had her passport handed over to her by the Deputy Minister during the event.
On her part, the Regional Minister, Honourable Charity Gardiner stated that the Goaso Passport Application Centre fulfills the President’s vision to bring services closer to the people, improve efficiency and enhance public service. She said the development would ease congestion at other application centres. She reaffirmed Government’s commitment to accessible service delivery and urged stakeholders to support the facility.
Honourable Collins Dauda, Member of Parliament for Asutifi South, representing the parliamentary caucus of the Ahafo Region expressed gratitude to the Government for its continued support in advancing development initiatives in the region.
Among others, traditional leaders in the Ahafo Region including Nana Afia Serwaa(Goaso Manhemaa), Nana Osuodumgya Appiadwaa Boafo (Hwidiem Manhene), Nana Owusu Kontor III (Mehame Hene), Oyeeman Koduah Acheampong (Ayomosohene), Nana Appau Baafour representing Dadiesoaba Hene, Nana Okoh Agyemang Boakye (Techire Hene), Nana Adu Boakye representing Techire Hene, Nana Adu Boakye representing Yamfo Hene, Nana Adusei Poku Konkonko representing Acherensua Manhene, Nana Darko Kuffour (Akodie Hene), Nana Anim Dankwah representing Kenyasi (1) and Nana Adu Gyamfi representing Kenyasi (2)were at the ceremony.
