The Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs, Honourable James Gyakye Quayson (MP) held a meeting with the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran, His Excellency Ali Ghomshi, on Tuesday, 4th November 2025 with focus on strengthening the cordial relations between the two countries.
The Ambassador recalled his assurances to deepen the relations between the two countries during his Presentation of Credentials and informed of investments made in education, health and agriculture. He cited scholarships awarded to Ghanaian students and the recent establishment of Faculty of Nursing at the Islamic University College aimed at contributing to human resource development. He also mentioned the cooperation between the Parliaments of the two countries.
The Deputy Minister acknowledged the various forms of programmes undertaken by Iran in Ghana which aligns with Ghana’s development efforts.
