DEPUTY MINISTER FOR FOREIGN AFFAIRS MEETS AMBASSADOR OF TÜRKIYE

The Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs, Honourable James Gyakye Quayson (MP) held a meeting with the Ambassador of the Republic of Türkiye, His Excellency Hüseyin Güngör on Thursday, 18th September, 2025.

The Honourable Deputy Minister brought to the fore Government’s agenda to transform Ghana’s economy and emphasized that Ghana was ready for knowledge sharing in the Turkish model for development. Referring to the economic cooperation between the two countries, he underscored the need to explore new avenues for investment.

The Ambassador congratulated the Deputy Minister on his appointment and corroborated with him on the need to elevate the economic relation between the two countries to a structured framework. He commented on the considerable presence of Turkish businesses in Ghana and disclosed that the Embassy had established Trade Desk with some financial institutions to assist Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs). In addition, he indicated that beyond trade, the two countries could establish partnership in the areas of construction, agriculture, manufacturing, among others to further deepen the ties between Ghana and Türkiye.

Both parties reaffirmed their commitment to work closely for mutual benefit to enhance the friendship between the two countries.
