The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Honourable James Gyakye Quayson (MP), on 28th October, 2025 met with some members of the Pan-African Parliament’s Committee on Trade, Customs, and Immigration Matters. The meeting focused on enhancing intra-African trade, facilitating cross-border movement, and strengthening collaboration between Ghana and the Pan-African Parliament in promoting regional integration.
The Deputy Minister and the Members of the Committee reaffirmed their commitment to advancing the objectives of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) and ensuring that trade and immigration policies contribute to sustainable development across the continent. The meeting also highlighted the linkage between trade and free movement.
The delegation from the Pan African Parliament was made up of the Clerk of the Pan-African Parliament, Mrs. Lindiwe Khumalo, Senator and Member of Parliament of the Kingdom of Morocco, Honourable Hanna Belkhir, Member of the National Assembly of Namibia, Honourable Rodney Cloete and Member of the National Assembly of Zambia, Honourable Jonathan Daka and Member of Parliament for South Dayi, Honourable Rockson-Nelson Etse Kwami Dafeamekpor.
