PRESIDENT JOHN DRAMANI MAHAMA COMMISSIONS ELEVEN ENVOYS

The President of the Republic of Ghana, His Excellency John Dramani Mahama commissioned eleven (11) envoys at a ceremony at the Jubilee House. These were Mr. Benjamin Anani Quashie, High Commissioner-designate to the Republic of South Africa; Captain George Kofi Nfojoh (Rtd.), High Commissioner-designate to the Republic of Togo; Professor Dora Francisca Edu-Buandoh, High Commissioner-designate to Canada; Alhaji Abdul-Rahman Haruna Attah, High Commissioner-designate to the Republic of Namibia; Mr. Kojo Choi, Ambassador-designate to the Republic of Korea; Dr. Kwame Ampofo, Ambassador-designate to Hungary; Mr. Magnus Kofi Amoatey, Ambassador-designate to the Democratic Republic of Congo; Mr. Benedict Batatabe Assorow, Ambassador-designate to the Holy See; Professor (Mrs.) Esi Awuah, Ambassador-designate to the Swiss Confederation; Mr. Kwesi Ahwoi, Ambassador-designate to the Republic of Serbia; and Mr. Mohammed Abubakari Manaf, Ambassador-designate to the Republic of Benin.

After administering the Oaths of Allegiance, Secrecy and Office, His Excellency the President stated that the appointments represented a renewed commitment to repositioning Ghana’s diplomatic service under a new framework of accountability and performance. Referring to the Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for Heads of Mission, he urged the commissioned Envoys to align their diplomatic engagements with national development priorities to deliver measurable progress in trade, investment, and international cooperation. He further admonished the Envoys to embody the principles of service, innovation, and renewal that underpin Government’s Reset Agenda, a programme focused on rebuilding trust in governance, fostering inclusive growth, and enhancing institutional efficiency.
