During a meeting with the Prime Minister of Jamaica, he conveyed gratitude to the President of the Republic of Ghana, His Excellency John Dramani Mahama through the Minister for Foreign Affairs for the assistance and solidarity in the aftermath of the Hurricane Melissa devastation.
The Prime Minister said that the gesture shown by Ghana would always be treasured.
The Prime Minister and the Minister also discussed labour mobility from Ghana to Jamaica. In addition both sides agreed to initiate a Ghana-Jamaica Defence Cooperation Agreement; and explored business opportunities for Ghanaian companies as Jamaica intends to embark on an infrastructural revamp.
The Prime Minister further pledged to offer full support for President Mahama’s UN resolution seeking to declare the transatlantic slave trade the greatest crime against humanity and to demand reparations.
