PRESENTATION OF OPEN LETTERS OF CREDENCE BY THE AMBASSADOR-DESIGNATE OF SWITZERLAND

The Ambassador-designate of Switzerland to Ghana, Mrs. Simone Giger, presented her open letters of credence to the Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration, Honourable Thomas Mbomba, on Thursday 1st September, 2022.

During the presentation, the Ambassador-designate noted that the cooperation between Ghana and Switzerland covers areas such as education, trade and investment, as well as issues of multilateral nature. Mrs. Giger commended the government’s efforts at climate protection alluding to an agreement that was signed between both countries recently. In matters relating to trade, the Ambassador-designate praised Ghana for the quality of cocoa it exports to Switzerland. She indicated her commitment to further deepen the strong bonds of friendship between the two countries during her tenure of duty.

The Hon. Deputy Minister in his response, welcomed the Ambassador-designate and congratulated her on her new appointment. He further commended the Swiss Government for its immense support to the country in its fight against the outbreak of covid-19. He assured the Ambassador-designate of the Ministry’s readiness to support her during her tenure and to widen and deepen cooperation in sectors of mutual benefit and interest to both countries.
