As part of his historic State Visit to Jamaica, President John Dramani Mahama held bilateral talks on Monday, 3rd August, 2026, with The Most Honourable Dr Andrew Holness, Prime Minister of Jamaica.

During the meeting, President Mahama reactivated conversations with his Jamaican counterpart on the desire to establish a direct airline between Ghana and Jamica, to enhance tourism and strengthen people to people exchanges with the Caribbean.

The meeting focused on strengthening Ghana–Jamaica relations through enhanced cooperation in trade and investment, education, tourism, culture, agriculture, and other areas of mutual interest.

The two leaders also reaffirmed their shared commitment to deepening Africa–Caribbean partnerships and promoting closer collaboration on regional and global issues.
