Deputy Minister For Foreign Affairs Hon. Mohammad Habibu Tijani Presents School Items To Anyaa M/A Basic School And Odorgonno Senior High School Under The “Back To School Campaign’’, on Friday, 13th July 2018

The Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration, Hon. Mohammad Habibu Tijani on Friday, 13th July 2018, presented school items to the Anyaa M/A Basic School and the Odorgonno Senior High School in furtherance of  the Ministry’s “Back to School campaign”.  The Back to School Campaign is part of the Ministry’s  corporate social responsibility which is aimed at complimenting the Government’s efforts in  ensuring that  children in rural and urban areas gain access to quality education. The Hon. Deputy Minister was accompanied by Mrs Ama Twum Amoa, Ghana’s Ambassador to Ethiopia and some officers of the Ministry.

 

ANYAA M/A BASIC SCHOOL

Hon. Tijani presented the items to Mrs. Juliana Opokua Dapaah, Headmistress of the Anyaa M/A Basic School with teachers and pupils of the school looking on.

 

In his remarks, Hon. Tijani extended greetings from the Minister for Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration, Hon. Shirley Ayorkor Botchwey. He indicated that, the donation was to encourage and empower the students to attain higher laurels. He added that the “Back to School campaign” is in support of His Excellency the President of the Republic of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s free and compulsory education policy. Hon Tijani stated that the donation would be extended to other schools within the country.

 

He noted that the donation was a form of support and incentive which would also serve as a relief to parents.  He, therefore , called on all and sundry to support the project in order to ensure a better educational system for Ghanaian children. Items donated to the Anyaa M/A Basic School were A4 sheets, dictionaries, Math sets, English textbooks and footballs.

 

Miss Jessica Kumah, a female pupil of the school thanked the Ministry for the kind gesture and stated that the donation would go a long way to improve upon their academic performance.

ODORGONNO SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL

At Odorgonno Senior High School, the Headmistress, Mrs. Valencia Quame, received the items on behalf of the school. She indicated in her welcome address that the Minister for Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration, Hon. Shirley A.  Botchwey had a long standing relationship with the school. Thus, the presence of Hon. Tijani and his entourage was a homecoming.

 

Hon. Tijani reiterated that the donation was part of the Ministry’s corporate social responsibility. Among Items donated to Odorgonno Senior High School were, A4 sheets, dictionaries, Math sets, exercise books, pens, pencils, Examination pads and footballs.

The Headmistress of the school thanked the Ministry for the donation.
