GHANA’S FOREIGN AFFAIRS MINISTER TO VISIT CUBA

The Minister for Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration, Hon. Shirley Ayorkor Botchwey (MP) will pay a 5-day working visit to Cuba from the 13th-17th September 2018.

While in Cuba, the Ghanaian Foreign Minister will hold discussions with his Cuban counterpart, Bruno Rodriguez Parrilla, bothering on the diplomatic and bilateral relations between the two countries and sign some agreements with her host.

The Minister will also hold discussions with the Cuban Minister for Trade and Foreign Investment, H.E Rodrigo Malmierca Diaz and tour the Jose Marti Museum and lay a wreath in his memory.

The visit is at the invitation of the Cuban Minister for Foreign Affairs, Bruno Rodriguez Parrilla.

Ghana established Diplomatic relations with Cuba 59 years ago and relations have flourished over the years.

While Cuba has for decades supported Ghana in the areas of healthcare and education, Ghana has remained an ardent campaigner against the economic blockade imposed on Cuba by the United States of America.

The visit by the Minister is expected to strengthen the long-cherished ties of friendship among the two nations.
