GHANA’S FOREIGN MINISTER MOURNS DEATH OF ZAMBIAN ENVOY

Hon. Minister for Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration, Shirley AyorkorBotchwey has conveyed the condolences of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and the people of Ghana to the Government and people of Zambia on the passing of H.E. Rayford Mbulu, Zambia’s High Commissioner to Ghana.

The Minister was at the Zambian Mission in Accra to sign a book of condolence in memory of the late Zambian diplomat and eulogized him, saying he would be remembered for his contributions to the strong ties that exist between Ghana and Zambia.

The Hon. Minister regretted the passing of H.E. Mbulu and prayed a peaceful rest for his soul.

“It was with a deep sadness and sorrow that I learnt of the passing of H.E. Mbulu. On behalf of the Government of Ghana, I wish to extend my sincere condolence to the family of H.E. Rayford Mbulu, the Government and the People of Zambia during this period of grief”, the Minister wrote.

The Hon. Minister was received at the Zambian High Commission in Accra by Mrs Phyllis Chuma Chilembe, Acting High Commissioner.

She was accompanied by a Deputy Minister, Charles Owiredu, Chief of protocol Samuel Kumah and Director/Office of the Hon. Minister, Carolyn Oppong-Ntiri.

The Zambian Ambassador to Ghana died early hours of Wednesday March 6, 2019.

Officials at the Zambian High Commission in Accra say a memorial service will be held in honour of Mr Rayford Mbulu on Tuesday March 12, 2019 at the Action Chapel in Accra.
