POSTING ORIENTATION DINNER

The Foreign Service Institute of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on 5th June, 2026 held a dinner at the end of a three-week orientation programme for selected officers in preparation of their assignments at Ghana’s Missions abroad.

The Chief Director, Ambassador Khadija Iddrisu in her remarks acknowledged the Resource Persons for their contributions in making the orientation programme a success and stressed the importance of continuous capacity building for effective service delivery. She further urged the participants to apply the knowledge and skills acquired during the training in the discharge of their duties. She highlighted the importance of strict adherence to rules and regulations. She also underscored the importance of teamwork and professionalism in promoting productivity.

Delivering remarks on behalf of the Coordinating Director of the Foreign Service Institute, Mr. Francis Gborglah informed that participants received training in areas including diplomatic practice, economic diplomacy, negotiation, diplomatic protocol, mental health, investment, digital diplomacy, budgeting, among others. He stated that the theme for the dinner, “Advancing the Reset Agenda,” aligns with government policy objectives and underscored the importance of evidence-based policy engagement in the conduct of diplomacy. He encouraged the participants to uphold professionalism and wish them successful tour of duty.

Officers who distinguished themselves during the training session were acknowledged and given awards for their exceptional performance. These were Ms. Irene Agyetey, Mr. Kwesi Majeed, Mr. Benjamin Mensah and Mrs. Eunice Ahinsah-Wobil. The Director of the Institute, Ambassador Perpetua Dufu, Mrs. Ninette Danquah Ivo and Mr. Edward Nii Thompson were also appreciated for their contribution for the success of the programme.

The orientation programme forms part of the Ministry’s commitment to strengthening the capacity of officers with the requisite skills to enable them discharge their responsibilities effectively.
