Ambassador Of Angola Pays Courtesy Call On Deputy Minister For Foreign Affairs And Regional Integration Hon. Mohammad Habibu Tijani

The Ambassador of Angola to Ghana, H.E Augusto da Silva Admiral, paid a courtesy call on the Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration, Hon. Mohammad Habibu Tijani (MP) on Monday, September 17, 2018.

On behalf of the Minister for Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration, Hon. Tijani welcomed Ambassador Augusto da Silva Admiral and recalled that Ghana and Angola have had bilateral relations for many years. He added that both countries were at the forefront of fighting for human rights prior to the independence era on the African continent and have supported each other over the years. He indicated that, Ghana would continue to maintain good relations with Angola.

The Deputy Minister urged both countries to enhance their economic cooperation by encouraging collaboration between entrepreneurs from both countries.  He also asked that ideas on best practices in the security and oil industry be shared between the two countries.

Hon. Tijani assured Ambassador Admiral of Ghana’s commitment to work with Angola on the Permanent Joint Commission for Cooperation (PJCC) for the mutual benefit of both countries.

H.E Augusto da Silva Admiral, among other things acknowledged his country’s good bilateral relations with Ghana and added that he would work to further enhance the relations.

He also urged both countries to cooperate in various areas of the economy, and recalled that some entrepreneurs from his country have participated in trade fairs organized in Ghana. He called for further collaboration between Ghanaian and Angolan businesses for the mutual benefit of both countries.
