The Director of the National Centre for Coordination of Early Warning and Response Mechanism, Colonel Joseph K. Merdiemah paid a courtesy call on the Minister for Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration, Hon. Shirley Ayorkor Botchwey, on Tuesday, 5th July 2022.
Col. Merdiemah took the opportunity to brief the Hon. Minister on the various activities that the Centre had been engaged in since its launch in November 2021. The Director also acknowledged the vital role that the Ministry played in the setting up of the Centre and further assured the Minister of his commitment to work towards the fulfilment of the Centre’s mandate.
Hon. Shirley Ayorkor Botchwey noted that the objective of establishing the National Early Warning and Response Centre was to improve the early warning capacity of the country, proactively identify emerging crises and improve response mechanisms. She, therefore, assured the Centre of the Ministry’s continued support in the execution of its mandate.
