GHANA AND BRAZIL TO DEEPEN BILATERAL COOPERATION

Ghana and Brazil have agreed to further deepen the already existing cordial relations between the two countries. This came to bare when the Foreign Ministers from the two countries held bilateral discussions in the margins of the UN Security Council Meeting in New York on Tuesday, 12th July, 2022.

The need for the expansion in the bilateral cooperation between Ghana and Brazil has become necessary following the establishment of the Headquarters of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) Secretariat in Accra, which has reinforced Ghana’s position as a gateway to trade with Africa. Hon. Shirley Ayorkor Botchwey and her Brazilian counterpart, Mr. Carlos Alberto Franco França agreed to hold political consultations between the two countries at a later date.
