On Monday 13th April 2026 the Minister for Foreign Affairs, Honourable Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa (MP) received envoys of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) accredited to Ghana to hold discussions on evolving regional and global developments. These envoys were Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, His Excellency Sultan Abdulrahman Al- Dakhel, Ambassador of United Arab Emirates, His Excellency Dr. Abdulla Murad Suliaman Mohammed Al- Mandoos, Ambassador of the State of Qatar, His Excellency Khalid Bin Jabor Saif Jasser Al- Mesallam, and the Chargé d’Affaires of the State of Kuwait, Husain Alebrahim.
The Minister reasserted Ghana’s principled foreign policy stance on respect for sovereign and territorial integrity and adherence to a rule-based order.
The envoys from the GCC acknowledged the collaboration between them and Ghana at both bilateral and multilateral levels and emphasised the need for peace. They recounted the happenings in the Middle East and its attendant humanitarian crises and expressed the need for peaceful resolution through dialogue.
