As part of activities to commemorate the 2023 Civil Service Week celebration and 2022 Awards Ceremony, the Office of the Head of the Civil Service is organising an inter-ministerial sports tournament from 5th May to 6th June, 2023 on the theme “Enhanced Service Delivery and Economic Transformation in Ghana : The Civil Service in Focus”.
The Head of Civil Service, Nana Kwasi Agyekum- Dwamena, in his opening remarks at the start of the tournament noted that it would serve as a platform for staff from the various Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) to network, improve on coordination, collaboration, team building and keep themselves healthy in order to achieve their respective goals. He urged the various participating teams to socialise and build fruitful partnerships for the future.
The Head of the Planning Committee for the 2023 Civil Service Week, Mr. Evans Aggrey Darkoh, commended the participants for taking time off their busy schedules to participate in the tournament and further urged them to network towards achieving national development.
The Head of Human Resource for the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Mr. Eric Mensah Bonsu, urged the participating teams to put up a good performance in order to improve upon the standards of the games.
The tournament is organised by the Civil Service annually to promote unity, good health and sportsmanship amongst staff of the MDAs. This year’s event would have 36 teams made up of both male and female teams who will be competing for awards in football and tennis.
