The Emir of the State of Qatar, His Highness, Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani, arrived in Ghana for a two-day State visit, from 23^rd to 24^th December, 2017. The visit follows one made by H.E. President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, to Qatar, from 16^th to 18^th November, 2017.

The purpose of the visit was to explore areas of cooperation and deepen relations, for the mutual benefit of both countries.

During the visit, Ghana and Qatar signed the following agreements:

i. Investment Promotion and Protection Agreement;

ii. Air Services Agreement;

iii. Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation in the Field of Youth; and

iv. Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation in the Field of Sports.
