The Ambassador of the Republic of Finland to Ghana, H.E. Pirjo Suomela-Chowdhury paid a courtesy call on the Hon. Minister for Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration, Hon. Shirley Ayorkor Botchwey, on Monday, 9th April, 2018.
After exchange of pleasantries, Hon. Ayorkor Botchwey acknowledged the active relations Ghana shares with Finland. She underscored the need for the relations to be nurtured for the mutual benefit of both countries. She further stated that, Ghana has ambitious policies which, coupled with a thriving democracy, presents a peaceful and fertile arena for investors. She urged the Finnish Ambassador to take the opportunity to invite more investors from Finland into the country.
On her part, H.E. Pirjo Suomela-Chowdhury reiterated the active relations between Ghana and Finland and expressed the hope that, the relations would be further strengthened. She commended the Ghana Beyond Aid initiative, among other things, and stated that, it was a policy upon which Ghana could derive its sustainable development. She also lauded the Government’s efforts at making Senior High School education accessible to all Ghanaians by the introduction of the free SHS policy.
