Her Majesty Queen Mathilde of Belgium, at the invitation of the President of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo arrived in Ghana on Wednesday, 7th February, 2018, on a 3-day official visit to the country. Accompanying her was the Minister for Developmental Cooperation of Belgium, Mr. Alexander De Croo.
The delegation was welcomed by the Hon. Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration, Hon. Mohammad Habibu Tijani together with other top Government officials such as the Minister for Planning, Hon. George Gyan-Baffour, Minister for Gender and Social Protection, Hon. Otiko Afisah Djaba. Ghana’s Ambassador to Belgium. H.E. Mrs. Novisi Abaidoo was also present.
Among other activities, the Queen is expected to visit projects which champion the cause of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) with special emphasis on areas such as education, health, mental health and the economic empowerment of women.
